Command-line reference

The tetrak-translit command, generated from the parser.

Detect, transliterate and fold Armenian and Georgian text.

usage: tetrak-translit [-h] [--version]
                       {detect,transliterate,fold,schemes} ...

Positional Arguments

command

Possible choices: detect, transliterate, fold, schemes

Named Arguments

--version

show program’s version number and exit

detect

say which script a string is in and, for Armenian, which orthography

tetrak-translit detect [-h] [--json] [text ...]

text to examine; stdin lines if omitted

one JSON object per line

transliterate

render a script in a romanisation scheme, or read one back

tetrak-translit transliterate [-h] [-s SCHEME] [-S SCRIPT] [--to TO]
                              [text ...]

Positional Arguments

text

text to transliterate; stdin lines if omitted

Named Arguments

-s, --scheme

romanisation scheme, optionally qualified: ala_lc, ka/iso_9984 (default: ala_lc; see tetrak-translit schemes)

Default: 'ala_lc'

-S, --script

the script (hy, ka) when the text and the scheme key do not settle it

--to

direction: latin (default), script, or a script key such as hy or ka (reading back works for reversible schemes only)

Default: 'latin'

fold

map any spelling onto the canonical index form, for matching

tetrak-translit fold [-h] [-S SCRIPT] [-s SCHEME] [text ...]

text to fold; stdin lines if omitted

-S, --script

the script whose rules Latin text gets (hy, ka)

-s, --scheme

the reversible scheme the Latin input is written in, if known

schemes

list the romanisation schemes
